Media and web¶
The platform ships a full browser, a media player and a research surface. All three are building blocks like any other: you can request them, place them side by side and connect them with other surfaces.
The browser¶
The browser has a page of its own: The browser.
A browser with several tabs, a shared address and search bar, and a side panel that shows what the opened page does in the background — which connections it opens and where to.
It is not a frame around a foreign window but part of the interface: you can place it next to a table, pass its content on and build it into a composite surface.
Split view. Search and page can sit side by side: the results on the left, the opened page on the right. That saves the back and forth between result list and content.

Protected content plays through the browser's second rendering surface — the one that also handles the common video formats. Which formats exactly depends on the computer; the platform ships a check that answers this for your machine instead of claiming it.
Research¶
The research surface combines search and reading mode: it searches, fetches the page it found and shows it in readable form — stating for every section where it came from.
The source reference is not an extra. A summary without a source is a claim; with a source it can be checked.
The search can also be narrowed — to certain parts of the web, or excluding others.
What is honestly still open here¶
- Not every computer plays every format. The embedded rendering surface and the second one differ in this; the check tells you what works on your machine.
- The document view shows the text of a document with search, not the pages as they would print.
- Image generation needs a locally set up image model. Without it the building block stays empty instead of guessing.
- The map view is a list of places with coordinates and a link to a map service — not yet a map inside the surface itself.
